Maple Oaks
TOC’s first neuro-inclusive neighborhood, Maple Oaks in Saline, Michigan, was developed and completed between 2017-22. The new neighborhood of thirty-four (34) homes was financed by private investors and local lenders and was built by local contractors.

More than 50% of the homes were reserved and pre-sold before groundbreaking; the balance were pre-sold over the following eight months. Approximately 33% of the homes were purchased by IDD adults, their families, caregivers, and other homebuyers with school-age IDD children; the remaining 67% were purchased by Active Adults, GenXers, first-time homebuyers, and young families who have embraced living in a neuro-inclusive neighborhood with IDD neighbors.
Maple Oaks now provides eight (8) IDD homeowners with the opportunity to live more independently within an inclusive, supportive neighborhood near caregiving and other local resources while building equity and providing their parents and family members with the opportunity to live nearby as first-time empty nesters.
